Our Mission

To promote and develop innovative initiatives in the fields of culture, education, recreation and art, that strengthen the human and territorial rights of black, Afro-Colombian, Raizal and Palenquera communities, as well as other population groups, through collaborative work, solidarity economy and the construction of social projects with a differential and participatory approach.

Our Vision

To be a national benchmark in the promotion of the humanities and social sciences through experimental, cultural and educational processes that contribute to the integral, equitable and sustainable development of communities, especially those historically marginalized, from a rights, diversity and territorial justice approach.

Juan Camilo Parra

Vice President of the Civitas Foundation.

Philosopher and writer. He directs the communication and community journalism processes of the youth collective Los Eudaimones. He is currently part of the Peace and Conflict Laboratory at FLACSO Ecuador and a member of the One Young World Academy in collaboration with NATO.

Laura Daniela Valbuena

Director of the projects and communication department.

Philosopher and artist. She leads reading promotion programs in public libraries and through unconventional media. Founder and director of the El Cocuy School of Arts and Crafts, where she leads community-based initiatives in the visual and plastic arts.

Eveling Jen Ocampo

Director and founder of Civitas.

She holds a degree in Business Administration from the National Unified Corporation of Higher Education. She was the administrative coordinator of agreements and processes with the Ministry of Arts, Cultures and Knowledge of Colombia and worked at the Caro y Cuervo National Institute.

Zharick Sotelo

Coordinator of inclusion processes.

Physiotherapist and social manager. She has been directing strategies for people with disabilities in the municipality of El Cocuy and ensuring compliance with its public policies for the past four years. She is also a cultural manager and promoter of artistic activities among young people.
